California Love

The newly renovated California Rowing Club has taken the country and indeed the World by storm. In his first year as Head Coach, Australian maverick, Tim McLaren has already made in roads to the national team. After just over a year at the helm he has already made a name for the club in a big way, qualifying a heavy men's double for the Olympic Games, a light men's quad for the Senior World Championships and several boats for this years U23 World Championships in Brandenburg Germany. Additionally, he may have provided the final piece in one of America's best quad in recent history in converted sweep rower, Scott Gault.

In addition they have sent several boats to this year's Henley Royal Regatta with impressive results.

Wes Piermarini and Elliot Hovey, this year's Heavyweight Olympic double have showed impressive results winning the Double Sculls Challenge Cup, defeating the Graves brothers. Donny Simkin and Gabriel Winkler also rowed well under the CRC banner and raced their way into the semi final.

Indeed CRC has proved that they have the resources and determination to turn the American rowing world on its head and leave East Coast rowing in the dust, especially with the recent acquisition of Head Cal coach, Steve Gladstone to Tim McLaren's already accomplished coaching roster.
